When travelling you will come across different types of guided tour options. When on vacation, selecting the best tour can be important, as you may only have a short time at your destination. Here are four common tour options and when you should choose them.

1. Audio tours – These are commonly found at museums and historical sights. They give you a chance to explore your surroundings and learn about the sights. If you enjoy learning and exploring on your own, this is a good tour to choose. This type of tour would also be beneficial in a country in which English is not the first language.

2. Personal guides – This involves hiring a guide to provide you with details of each sight. This would also give you a chance to ask more questions and get a personalized experience. But remember to meet and talk with the guide you intend to hire. They should speak fluent English and have a friendly personality.

3. Group guided experience – If you’re traveling with a group and looking for a less expensive way of getting a guided tour, this is the option for you. You will get the opportunity to meet other travellers, as well as explore the sights on your own.

4. Entire trip is coordinated by a guide/company- These tours can be expensive, as they go through a number of sights within a short period of time. If you prefer not to worry about your stay and transport, this is the best option for you. However, some of these tours can be tiring and feel rushed.
