Book Your Next Trip to Marrkesh, Morocco!

By Samuel Phineas Upham

Morocco is anything but boring. You can spend the day riding camels through the dessert or spend the day touring all the popular palaces and mosques. In fact, it can actually be hard to decide how to spend your trip if you’ve never been there before. I think that Marrakesh is the best city for tourists to explore.

Here are three things not to be missed in Marrakesh:

1) Souk Ableuh: Marrakesh is world famous for its souks, or outside shopping centers. Explore the shopping area to find delicious treats and popular ingredients including traditional Muslim clothing and beautiful lanterns. My personal favorite is Souk Ableuh for one reason: olives! At Ableuh they sell green, red, and black olives in all shapes and sizes.

2) Kasbah Agafay: One of my favorite things to do when I visit a new country is take a cooking class taught by one of the locals. It’s a great opportunity to learn how to make fantastic traditional dishes, not to mention eat delicious food! The class at Kasbah Agafay is set in breathtaking gardens where you can actually pick fresh produce to cook with.

3) Jemaa el-Fnaa: This is one of the most famous squares in all of Africa for a reason. It’s a very popular tourist attraction because there’s always so much to see there. There are many interesting characters to see at Jemaa el-Fnaa on a typical day, including snake charmers, fortune tellers, acrobats, magicians, monkey trainers, story tellers, and other various interesting entertainers.
